The word “Cymatics” means the science of visualizing audio frequencies. This music video is an interesting piece which combines Music and Science both.
The inspiration for this was a 1999 documentary, ‘Synesthesia’ based on a disorder that affects the audio and visual functions of the brain. People with the disorder hear a sound when they see bright colors, or see a color when they hear various sounds.
In this music video every sound is shown with a corresponding visual element. This is done with the help of several props such as: Chladni plate, Hose pipe, Speaker dish, Plasma ball, Ruben’s tube and Tesla coil, that transferred the vibrations from the music to visual elements such as: sand, water, Ferro Fluid, electricity and fire.
It’s a very unique approach towards music. It starts on a suspenseful note and gives you the feeling of the beginning of a battle and ends on a hopeful note. The music video is quite fun to watch and captivating as well. Oh, fun fact! Because of the nature of the music video, the video was shot first and then the music was written.
