Up & Up is a contemporary song by Coldplay a British rock band, with a message that resonates with its name.
The song talks about hope, finding the silver lining and fixing things that are broken. It talks about working hard and hustling irrespective of the current situation. It says that it is okay to feel and that eventually everything gets better. The vocals of the song are very soothing and they compliment the feel of the song.
The music is a blend of keyboards, bass guitar, drums, piano and acoustic guitar. The music video is graphic in nature and is mainly divided into 6 themes, which are, science and technology, history of human war, social phenomenon, environmental issues, sports and unthinkable fates. From showing the landing of Apollo 11 on the moon to showing the United States dropping the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in the case if Japanese refused the surrender in World war II. From showing the suicide problems at the Golden Gate bridge to showing the icebergs melting due to global warming caused by human activities. From showing the stunts done by the pilot to showing the possibilities of co-existence of human beings and nature.
Up & Up is a beautiful, well written song, with meaningful lyrics, a very innovative, thoughtful and surreal video. It is one of the best songs from their album ‘A Head Full Of Dreams’. This song is specially recommended for anyone who is struggling in life and love.
