Sound collection during Quarantine

Indian artists are making a space for music in lockdown

Sound artist and musician Yashas Shetty came out with an internet music show from his home studio in Bangalore. By naming the theme “isolation” as we are dealing with it right now. Shetty played tracks from different genres and time periods, Beethoven to 70s rock band by joy division. 

After the lockdown the radio quarantine has gone live every night.Similarly, in Kolkata, a group of friends came on to set radio quarantine Kolkata, they wanted to provide an online streaming platform.

Delhi based video artist, Pallavi Paul, decided to make a project on sounds of quarantining. A PhD student at JNU, Paul has done short films and documentaries and received global acclaim in London’s Tate gallery, now she is stuck at home so she is playing with sound, as a symphony of silence to be streamed aver Monday.
